Geocache Description:

Geocache placed near the top of Barrett's Hill in Bolton

This cache has been placed on conservation land in Bolton near the top of Barrett's Hill. There is parking on Danforth Lane at N42 24.737 W071 34.570. The trail has been cleared and there are some markers up to the stream crossing. From the gas line easement, it is pretty much straight uphill. The climb is a bit tough, but there is nothing that would wreck your hike. I first went searching up here when I found an entry in the 1908 Book of (Town) Boundaries for a benchmark. I don't know what datum was being used then, so I have not been able to pinpoint its location using a GPS. After several searches, I still have not found it. You can see the marker on the 1943 topo map (http://docs.unh.edu/MA/huds43nw.jpg). Nice big beautiful tree up here similar to Mount Ward.
