In the early 1700’s a single pirate ship ventured north, up the
Mississippi River, to what is now known as Minneapolis/St. Paul.
After arriving, Captain Blackheart ordered his men to offload all
the treasure from his holds, and burry it in the area the native
Indians called “Minnetonka”.
Fearing his treasure would be found, Captain Blackheart selected
a single man to stay behind and guard the treasure he held so dear.
Blackheart chose a man so feared, that a single utterance of his
name caused the ground to shake. For this reason, he wrote the name
in a log book so as not to speak it. The log was passed among the
crew until it reached the man whose name it contained. In an
instance, he ripped his name from the book and proclaimed the
treasure his, and his alone. Blackheart ordered the man to walk the
plank for trying to steal the treasure. A long and fierce battle
ensued.
In the end, only one man stood. As the ground shook beneath his
feet, the man spoke. “All who come to find my treasure shall see
the peril of those who came before. Only those who place their name
in the log and vow to protect the secret, shall see another
day.”
Bring the kids along for this one. Very kid friendly!
