This golf course was part of a master planned community in Lucerne that never quite took shape. The course was planned as a 27 hole championship golf course over 230 acres including holes from the most famous golf courses around the world.
The course was also designed to serve as a flood control facility for the area. The plan involved a clubhouse, tennis and pool facilites, and a restaurant.
A pot bunker is a small, round but very deep bunker with steep faces common to links-type courses. British Open courses are famous for their pot (sometimes called pothole) bunkers, most of them greenside and many of them so deep that a person standing on the green may not be able to see the player standing in the bunker.
