tato vas zavede hloubeji do minulosti.
Priblizne 9 km jihovychodne od Zatce se nachazi obec Dubcany. Za
obci ve smeru na Tuchorice se vlevo od silnice nachazi opusteny lom
- lokalita bohata na praveke zkameneliny.
Dno lomu je zvyseno navazkou, takze puvodni stena lomu byla vyssi.
Pokud se budete pohybovat pozorne kolem lomove steny, jiste
naleznete velke mnozstvi zkamenelin.
Puvodem takoveho mnozstvi je existence kridoveho more, ktere v
obdobi druhohor - svrchni kridy (pred 97-63 mil.let) zalilo znacnou
cast naseho uzemi. V techto teplych vodach se darilo hlavne
mekkysum, jejichz schranky o velikosti az 15 cm lze v usazeninach -
lomove stene nalezt.
Pokud se budete pokouset nalezt zkameneliny, nelamejte je primo
ze steny, ale hledejte je ocima na ni nebo v suti pod lomovou
stenou, která je jiz zvetrala. Zaroven vas zadame o dodrzovani
maximalni opatrnosti pri pohybu nejen na pristupove ceste, ale také
pod lomovou stenou a nad ni (zejm. pokud se zde budete pohybovat s
detmi), nebot stena je bez jakekoliv ochrany a v nekterych mistech
znacne vysoka.

Approximately 9 kilometers SE from Zatec is village Dubcany.
Behind the village on left side of the road to Tuchorice lies
abandoned quarry - the area rich for prehistoric fossils. If you
pay an attention by moving along the profile, you will be able to
find amount of fossils.
The origin of this amount of fossils is in the fact, that there
was cetraceous sea in the time of Mesozoic era (97-63 mil. year)
and live there water animals - many species of slugs. You can find
their shells (the size up to 15 cm) in the debris of the profile,
that is why you don´t have to quarry it from the wall.
We ask you to move in this area very carefuly, especially
with children (at the bottom and te top of the
profile)!!!
