         A cerca de 2,5 km a jusante da foz do Terges, num local denominado de Pulo do Lobo, o rio aumenta de velocidade e vai-se encaixando gradualmente, cavando um novo leito, relativamente muito estreito no fundo muito largo do vale que até aí corria. Este leito fica assim abandonado a um nível superior, lavado pelas águas das cheias, sem outros depósitos que não sejam os seixos no interior das marmitas, cortado por sulcos que seguem a direcção da estratificação dos xistos.

         Logo após o Pulo do Lobo, o rio corre numa garganta muito apertada com 20 m de profundidade e por vezes pouco maior de largura de paredes que interceptam o fundo do vale superior em duas arestas perfeitamente definidas. Este continua, por cima, perfeitamente conservado até ao fim da Corredoira a 9 km a jusante do Pulo do Lobo.

         O canhão que o vale inferior forma logo à saída do Pulo do Lobo mantêm-se com toda a perfeição, apertado e com as paredes abruptas, quase verticais, onde aqui e além se vêem restos de marmitas, até pouco antes do Porto Largo a 6 km do Pulo do Lobo. Para lá deste, na Corredoira, já a garganta alarga bastante; caem blocos para o rio, as paredes vão-se degradando, de modo que estas, antes verticais, têm agora a aparência de ruínas. Mais para jusante, o vale inferior continua a alargar-se progressivamente, destruindo em muitos locais a rechã que vem prolongando o vale superior. O rio tem então um vale em V muito jovem.

         A progressão contínua e extremamente clara, no sentido de jusante, que se observa no grau de destruição das paredes do canhão, mostra que a erosão trabalha há muito mais tempo nas secções mais próximas da foz. Não admira que assim seja, pois, no Pulo do Lobo, está a garganta a formar-se debaixo dos nossos olhos. É o recuo da queda, por erosão regressiva que a cria.

         É notório que o vale inferior é mais velho, e consequentemente exposto há mais tempo à erosão, junto à foz, o que indica que a causa deste fenómeno não só actuou até muito próximo do mar como foi aí que actuou primeiro, progredindo depois, por erosão regressiva, para montante até ao local onde hoje se encontra. Esta é uma clara evidência que tudo coincide com a descrição clássica de um ataque de erosão mais antigo por outro mais moderno.

         At about 2.5 km downstream of the outlet of the Terges, in a place known as Pulo do Lobo, the river increases its power speed up gradually fitting, digging a new stream bed, relatively close to the bottom of the valley that until there it was flowing. This stream bed is left to a higher level, washed by the waters of the floods, without deposits other than those pebbles inside the giant kettles, cut by grooves that follow the direction of the schists stratification.

        Immediately after the Pulo do Lobo, the river flows in a very tight throat with 20 m deep and sometimes slightly larger in width of walls that intersect the bottom of the valley in two upper edges perfectly defined. This continues, on top, perfectly preserved until the end of Corredoira (the new river valley) at 9 km downstream of Pulo do Lobo.

         The cannon formed by the lower valley right at the exit of Pulo do Lobo keep up with all the perfection, with tight and sharp walls, almost vertical, where here and there are remains of giant kettles, until shortly before the Port Largo at 6 km from the Pulo do Lobo. Beyond this, in Corredoira (the new river valley), the throat enlarges a lot; blocks fall into the river, the walls are degrading, so that, before in vertical, now have the appearance of ruins. Further downstream, the lower valley continues to rise gradually, destroying in many places the plateau that is prolonging the upper valley. The river has now a very young V valley.

         The continuous progression is extremely clear, to downstream, who can be seen in the degree of destruction of walls of the canyon, shows that the erosion works a long time ago in the sections nearest the outlet. No wonder that it is, at Pulo do Lobo, the throat is forming under our eyes. It is the retreat of the fall created by regressive erosion.

         It is clear that the lower valley is older, and therefore exposed more time to erosion, near the outlet, which indicates that the cause of this phenomenon not only acted near the sea as it was there that first acted, after progressing by regressive erosion, upstream to the place where he is today. This is a clear evidence that everything coincides with the classic description of an attack in a older erosion with one other more modern.

• Junto às coordenadas indicadas, logo à saída do Pulo do Lobo, existe um pego quase circular. Indique porque razão tem ele esta forma e o que a terá originado.
• Qual o nome da propriedade que terá de atravessar para chegar às coordenadas indicadas.

• According to the phenomena presented here, what might happen to the waterfall of Pulo do Lobo: shall be maintained as it is; disappears by regressive erosion; moves to upstream; moves to downstream or something else. Why?
• At the given coordinates, right ahead the exit of the Pulo do Lobo, exists a well with almost circular shape. Please indicate why it has this shape and that has caused.
• What is the name of the property that will have to cross to reach the given coordinates?
