Geocache Description:

Rock Creek Lake, CA

The Hardrock Memorial Geocache is dedicated to our beloved friend Terry Adams who passed away earlier this year. Terry, also know as "Hardrock" on the Rock Creek Lake message board, loved Rock Creek. He would spend his summer's camping in nearby Iris Meadow with his tent and green Toyota truck. He would hold annual "Rock Creek Republic" weekends at Palisade Campground and bring together friends that shared his love for Rock Creek. When Terry had to finaly leave Rock Creek at the end of the summer's he felt as if he was leaving home. During his last summer with us, it seemed as if he didn't want to leave Rock Creek spending almost his entire summer at the creek. It was as if he knew he would not be returning. His last post on the message board closed with a simple thought..."The creek is waiting". Terry is home now, and the creek no longer waits for him.

As a Memorial to Terry, his friends have placed this cache so that people are drawn into the same canyon that he and so many others find to be one of the most beautiful places in California. Please visit this wonderful location for a geocache, under the aspens and next to a creek. If you come during the day, some of the best hiking, fishing and pie is available along this beautiful canyon road that will take you up to over 10,000 feet when you reach the top.

Cache filled with some camping supplies you might find handy and some of your normal geocache trade items. Cache available summer and winter...but you will need to dig through some major snow in the winter. Please hide the cache better than you found it.

If you knew Terry, it would be nice to write something in the logbook you remember about him. The pages in the logbook will be passed along to his family.
