The cache area was once the site of a large sawmilling operation.
There were two dams, a rail line and many buildings. At the time,
St Hilaire was a major river town with a booming main street (check
out the 1915 photo). You will be searching on a peninsula of land
that is defined by a large loop of the Red Lake River. As you
travel to the cache you will pass a point where you can see the
river flowing both east and west.
Please do not drive on the walking trails near the cache to help
keep this area open to caching. The cache has a camera among lots
of other ‘stuff”, so take a picture and record the
frame number. The cache may be a little tricky to retrieve, and you
may find some help - enough said! Please return the cache carefully
so the next cacher will have a fun experience.
Travelers2 hope you enjoy this cache as much as we did creating
it. May the wind be at your back, the sun on your shoulder, and
your GPSr batteries fully charged. Keep on caching!
