Geocache Description:

Difficulty is for the over all work you will have to do.. Terrain is for the final cache.. The final is currently in a lame spot.. we hope to move it to a more rat like location.

This cache challenge is to get you to the largest lakes in New Hampshire.

Since the goal is to visit all the BIG lakes in NH, you will need to find a cache within .5 mile of each identified lake. If there are no caches within that distance you have 2 options.
1. Take a picture of your self near a clearly marked landmark (like a boat Launch sign) with your gps clearly showing the coordinates of the location. Take a picture of your GPSr with READABLE coordinates. The coordinates MUST be visible in order to verify you are near the identified lake OR
2. Place a cache within .5 mile of the identified lake.

However, if you use the option to hide a cache, you will need to follow all Groundspeak guidelines. Since you are not REQUIRED to place a cache, it is expected that if you place a cache it is not just to complete this quest. The cache should be well planned and placed with the expectation that it will last (not just slapped up to meet this criteria). All caches found to be quickly abandoned will result in log deletion from this cache.

RULES:
1. Find a cache, place a cache, or attend a geocaching event within .5 miles of the lake
2. Generally accepted rules, guidelines and conditions for logging a cache find, placing a cache or attending and event apply. These must be bona fide caches listed on Geocaching.com that you have personally (physically) found, placed or attended and logged. You MAY include all caches found prior to the creation of this Quest.
3. LOCATIONLESS cashes are NOT allowed.
4. After completing this quest you will need to attach a list of the caches found or hidden so it can be verified that you have completed the tour of NH’s Big lakes. You need to either book mark or log the Lake Name, waypoint # (GC#), cache name and date found. If you book mark, please be sure to write in the note section the name of the lake you are logging. If you used the "Look, my GPSr shows I was here" rule, please post the pictures in you log on this FINAL cache page. When you have visited all 89 lakes and found the final cache you can log the find on line.
(NOTE: The final cache is at the posted coords. To help save on gas, feel free to sign the cache log. You CANNOT post a find on the Web page until you have completed all 89 lakes and the final cache)
NOTE 2: Once you have logged your find and provided your list of caches/pictures near the lakes, we will spot check your finds. If it is found that you are not within the rules, you will be asked to delete your log till you can meet the criteria set for this quest.
NOTE 3:The cache distance will be measured from waters edge (any place in NH) using topo from the geocaching web page or DeLorme topo for those submitting pictures/coords.
NOTE 3A: Swamps & Damed up Rivers that are as the same elevation as the lake count as part of the lake (as long as i can see that it is within .5 miles of the lake using stated topo maps.).
NOTE 4: Some lakes connect to other states (like Umbagog), the lake find only counts if you find a cache or take a picture on the NH side of the water.
NOTE 5: if it is determined that a lake cannot be accessed through public land, it will be removed from the list.
NOTE 6: On the rare occasion that you might find a cache that is located within .5 miles of two lakes, you can only count that cache for one of the lakes. You will need to find a second cache ..

BTW: THE RATS HAVE THE FINAL SAY ON WHAT COUNTS AND WHAT DOESN’T

You can go to the following web page to get more information about each lake and the gz coords for the lakes:
