Riddle me this... Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

luvlandnav: Well, this has been up for more than 13 years. Really have loved this cache, but haven't had the time to maintain it in the previous 2 years. I would rather have kept it going, but I also haven't had very many people looking for it. So, I think it's time to let it go. It's been a good run!!

Geocache Description:

This cache is both a multi-cache and a mystery-cache, as there are several points to find and a riddle (and a riddle within the riddle) to solve in order to do so.

To find the actual cache, you will need to project waypoints, drive and hike (or bike).

The first location contains clues leading you to the second and third points.

The riddle is attached to the cache it’s located in, so you’ll need a pen and paper to copy it. This may prove to be especially difficult as the cache containing the riddle is hidden in a high, muggle area. But don't fret, there is plenty of room for you and/or your family to rest while waiting.

Solving the riddle will give you the information leading to the fourth point, which is also located in a relatively high, though that may be a matter of perspective, muggle area. However, if you solve the riddle wrong, you will not be able to connect the dots to get to the fourth location.

Additionally, due to circumstances that cannot be controlled, you may need your driver’s license or another form of identification in order to solve the riddle, so make sure you bring that as well.

The clue at the fourth point will lead you to the cache.

The first three points are located within the Pella city limits, while the final two points are located near Lake Red Rock, so you will drive a few miles. Part of the fun of this cache is figuring out how to get close to the fourth and fifth (cache) points, but the Volksweg Trail offers access.

This cache is meant to confound you, and I hope that it does – at least for a little while. It should take time and much mental effort. While I have included clues to defuse confusion, I may have instead infused convolution.

The cache begins with the following items:
“Ice Age” DVD
4 GB Flash Drive
Coleman LED flashlight with carrying case & batteries
Fool’s Gold TB#2 travel bug
Rum Runner Pirate Joe travel bug (inaugural journey)
Cursed Pirate’s Booty geo-coin (inaugural journey)
2 pencils
Waterproof matchstick geo-cache case
Log, pen and pencil

** Please note: The items taped to the top of the cache are for humidity control. PLEASE, do not attempt to eat them!

Good hunting!
