Adopted the original cache nearby from gdraft. Situated near to the old water wheel in Singleton Park.
In the late 1850s Henry Hussey Vivian the landowner diverted what was the Cockett or Vivian Stream (before it was culverted through much of the park) to improve the water supply to his neo-gothic property 'Parc Wern' on the opposite side of Brynmill Lane. He set up a wheel with U-shaped buckets; it is unknown whether this system was successful but it was abandoned in the late 1870s. Disappointingly, the original wheel was left to rust and the wheel here now replaced it in the 1980s. 'Parc Wern' was a nurses' home for many years but now has been replaced by flats. A micro cache - part of a series of three micros in the park which if you collect the co-ordinates will lead you to a bonus cache somewhere in the park named Sketty Hall. To get co-ords for the bonus cache, make a note of the letters/numbers printed on the log. Please bring a pen or pencil.
