China Bend Overlook
This is cache #12 in what will be a series of
twenty caches that will have you traveling a "loop" from Colville,
north on Aladdin Road to near the Canadian border on Deep Lake
Boundary Road, and then back around to Colville through Northport
and Kettle Falls. The series will have a few little side trips but
it should be doable in a day with no problem. Please note that not
all of the caches will be placed and active at the same time. We
started with #6 and will get them all completed as quickly as we
can.
This cache is one of the side trips that I
mentioned. It will take you off of the main highway loop road
and onto the opposite side of the Columbia River. The road is
paved (at least up to the cache - if you continue to follow the
road beyond the cache it will turn to gravel);
Pull your car into the obvious parking area once you reach the
coordinates and enjoy the view. The cache is not far from the
parking area. Quite a peaceful place.
The cache is NOT covered in my typical camo tape so please make
sure that it is hidden well. It is small so there isn't room for a
lot of larger items.Please be sure to replace and hide
well. The lid should be on tight so water does not get
in.
