Everybody in the cemetery is a member of Woodman of the World. They
often have tomestones depicting logs there are at least 2 in the
Elbert/Kiowa Cemetery.Treestones are basically grave markers in the
shape of a tree. Often they will look like tree stumps or logs.
Some will have branches. They are usually associated with the
Woodmen of the World, and their various associated groups, although
using tree-shaped grave markers pre-dates the organization. The
treestones of Woodmen will usually include their symbols, and they
might be inscribed with “Dum Tacet Clamet” (”though silent he
speaks”), or “here rests a Woodman of the World.” Trees, branches
and leaves are common symbols of nature in cemeteries.

!! Exciting New Cache Series
“COLORADO SPIRIT QUEST”
Colorado Spirit Quest is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.
There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural and mountain communities across Colorado. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries and tombstones.
COLORADO SPIRIT QUEST is not affiliated with any other Spirit
Quest group. Special thanks and credit are given to
SixDogTeam who started the Indiana Spirit Quest in 2004. The idea has rapidly spread into many states.

The CSQ endeavor is an enormous and relentless task. It cannot
be accomplished by just one or two people. This project will only flourish if there is a multitude of volunteer cachers willing to place these caches.
After locating the cache container, take some time to reflect back
on the lives of those pioneers and the effort it took to make Colorado such a great state.

Ifyou are interested in joining the “Walking Through History
Clan”contact may be made by sending an e-mail to the owner of “Colorado Spirit Quest #1 –Mountain Passage”. Use the ‘Send Message” link at the center of the page of their profile.
Each person that places a CSQ cache is responsible for its maintenance.

My final find of the morning while working on the Baker's Dozen Challenge. This completes day #6 for me. Thanks for bringing me here, and thanks for the cache.

This is my favorite series. But my GPS had me going up and down the bank and took me through the thorn bushes making it harder than it needed to be. Fortunately I was able to spot the cache even with some snow on the ground. SL

Mrs. Chihuahuas-3 and I decided to take the hardest path to this cache. I have a very sore knee today, so we had to find an alternate route back down -- or I could have just sat down and slid back to the car! Thank you for a nice cache! I took a geocaching magnet and left a geocaching pin.

Take the easy way up in the snow or the hard way?!?!? Well, of course, Mrs. Golden B's and I took the harder way! Looked for a minute or two in the wrong location that spotted the cache. Took a geomagnet and left a pair of earrings. TFTC

Quick Cache and Dash on the way to Elizabeth CO.
Found with my Dad on a cold but sunny day.
Nice hide.
Watch out for the thorn bushes, I found it in the dark and was stuck a couple time.
TFTC SL!
