As you climb out of the valley the road is cut out of the rock...It is here at the top you will find this cache.

Entering the Icebox

This is cache #3 in what will be a series of twenty caches that will have you traveling a "loop" from Colville, north on Aladdin Road to near the Canadian border on Deep Lake Boundary Road, and then back around to Colville through Northport and Kettle Falls. The series will have a few little side trips but it should be doable in a day with no problem. Please note that not all of the caches will be placed and active at the same time. We started with #6 and will get them all completed as quickly as we can.

The area north of this cache is affectionately referred to as "The IceBox". It always seems that this area has a noticeably lower temperature than other areas on Aladdin. In the winter months you can almost be guaranteed of more snow here than other places on Aladdin as well.

As you come out of the valley from either direction the road will cut through the rocks. A mini "mountain pass if you will. There is a pullout on the North side of this rock and a small access road that leads behind the rock. (You don't need to go down the access road with your car but if you do, don't worry there is plenty of room to turn around! Also, please USE CAUTION when re-merging into traffic. Drivers coming over the top of the hill will not be able to see you.) It is in the area of the rocks and under the power lines where you will find cache #3 in the series. You are looking for an ammo box so there is lots of room to exchange things. (I've always wondered why power lines make that crackling noise... Kinda eerie.
