!!! N.B.: PRINT A COPY OF THE SPOILERPIC'S. At least of
spoiler 2. !!!
The route starts at the parking of the
- well worth visiting ! - along the LP-1 mainroad Santo Domingo
-> Roque Faro.
This area is the center of petroglyphfindings in La Palma and
besides in the museumpark you will be able to see some of these
rockcarvings along the route
too!
From the parking go through the tunnel underneath LP-1 and
follow the white/yellow markings of LP-9.2 hikingtrail.
You will be following the Barranco de La Zarza all the
way to the cachelocation. The barranco is a very green one which is
why this is one of the earliest inhabited parts of La Palma. You
will pass through 3 Caboco's :
Take your time to look around and enjoy !
Once you found the cache you can go back the same way, but nicer
will be to follow the LP-9.2 through the barranco passing
Fuente La Vica going up and out of the barranco untill you reach
the road to Don Pedro. Turn left and then right after 50 metres
(LP-9.2) and follow the white/yellow markings through a very quiet
and completely different area back towards the museum.
Take at least 3 hours for this route , but do not forget
to visit the museum and Parque .
Wear good hiking boots an carry enough to drink: there is
nothing between start and finish !
Rother Wanderfuhrer La Palma, 2008, hike nr. 23 describes this
route as a shortcut from a longer hike to Don Pedro.
Enjoy !
