A micro grab-n-go. You are looking for an Altoids tin held in place
by friction. Please put it back exactly as you found it.
The Belleville High Banks is a historic dirt track built in the
1910 era for racing events that encompassed everything from horses
to motorcycles. Today, the “World's Fastest Half Mile Dirt
Track” brings more than race cars and drivers to North
Central Kansas, but also an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm
to the famed Belleville High Banks. The sweeping clay oval is one
of the world's most demanding tracks for both drivers and
equipment.
The Belleville High Banks is managed by the Fair Amusement
Committee — a volunteer group of businesspeople and citizens
from the local area.
The Belleville High Banks hosts a dozen or more star-studded events
throughout the racing season, featuring the nation's most talented
drivers from the toughest touring circuits on dirt, including the
USAC National Midget Car Series, World of Outlaws Late Model Series
and the Wichita-based O’Reilly NCRA Sprint Cars, Late Models
and Modifieds.
Some of the nation's greatest drivers have tested their nerves at
Belleville, including Parnelli Jones, A.J. Foyt, Tony Stewart, Ken
Schrader, Stan Fox, Kasey Kahne, J.J. Yeley and Jeff Gordon.
Built inside the acclaimed half-mile track is a quarter-mile track
which features special events for Dwarf Cars, Mini-Stocks, Hobby
Stocks, TQ Midgets, Cruisers and more.
The track’s mainstay has been the Speedway Motors Belleville
Midget Nationals, which have been held every year for 31 years
during the last weekend in July.
As the nation’s most prestigious event of the year for
Midgets, America’s top owners and drivers trek to Kansas each
year for the historic event. The Speedway Motors Belleville Midget
Nationals is an exciting race that brings the best equipment,
owners and drivers to the nation’s richest midget race in the
country, transforming the town of Belleville from a small rural
community of 2,500 to a racing Mecca of more than 20,000
people!
The Belleville High Banks has brought exciting races to the
“Crossroads of America” for nearly a century. To
recognize the long-lasting tradition and prestige of various racing
events held at the track, the High Banks Hall of Fame &
National Midget Auto Racing Museum was built to capture and
remember racing personalities, memorabilia and display race cars
that influenced the historic racing community. In July, 2004 a
dream that had been nearly a decade in the making was given the
checkered flag when the High Banks Hall of Fame & National
Midget Auto Racing Museum opened at U.S. Hwy. 81 and 12th St. in
Belleville.
