Tarboo lake is the beginning of the creeks short dash to the salt water

The final or the beginning?

Several seasonal side streams flow in and out but the lake is either the beginning or the end for the anadromous -born in fresh water, migrating and living most of life in salt water, returning to spawn in fresh water- salmonoids. Access the lake area via tarboo lake road off center valley rd. The drive back through Pope Resources land is 3 miles. There is also a kayak cache down the lake a bit. True access by foot to the creek outflow is blocked by a fence so we placed the cache opposite of the boat ramp.

Park in the parking area then go outside the fence, looking outside the fence you'll notice a fisherman's trail. The trail is easily followed right to the cache. In the wet months rain gear would be advised! Because of the tree cover the plus or minus was 25 feet but the hide spot is obvious.

We love walking in the woods, so this cache was quite enjoyable. Once we were at GZ, ricksto had the cache in hand in just a few seconds. Wow! We found an astromarc cache-in-the-woods quickly!! You must be slippin' there Marc! *huge grin* TFTS!

Thought we were going to wrap up the Salmon Creeks series today.....not so!! I think we were at the right spot, according to the numbers & the hint, but just could not come up with the cache. The was the first of two hides by the devious Bogey Boys, that skunked us today. Bummer........
