When there is little snow and the road is open, access is easy. The
cache is hidden beside an unsealed section of the road. From mid
November until the snow melts the road is closed.
The cache is hidden in a prominent place between the river and the
unsealed road. Approaching from the North, the road may be open in
winter to about 15km downhill of the cache. The small tupperware
7cm x 10cm cache contains a pencil, a notebook with contact
instructions and a small enamel badge. The badge may be kept by the
finder if they replace it with something more valuable. The
geocacher is advised to have empty water bottles when they reach
this cache. A word of warning; travelling in the mountains in
Hokkaido during the snowing seasons can be very dangerous. Also,
when this cache was placed, fresh footprints of a large brown bear
were found very close by. Geocachers search for this cache at their
own risk. We checked the cache on 08 Nov 2009. It is in good
condition, having survived the winter. Our children added their
drawings to the cache notebook.

December 6, 2008 by osprey.misago (1 found) My approach was from Route 39. However, because of the snow in front 20km from the destination was closed. This weekend, I will try again from a different route :)[This entry was edited by osprey.misago on Tuesday, December 09, 2008 at 12:41:02 AM.]
