Geocache Description:

This is our first cache so we wanted it to be really good. We put alot of goodies into it along with a couple of TB’s and a coin, in the hopes of attracting cachers. As kids we spent alot of time in the woods and trails behind here. Those from this area will remember “The Castle” that stood on the hill here. Dedicated on April 25, 1903 Solomon’s Sanatorium was an impressive building. Unfortunately in the years to follow lack of funds resulted in it’s share of changes in ownership. In 1919 the name was changed to Attleboro Springs, due to the natural spring on the grounds and it was under that name that it shut down in 1938. It was owned by the Roman Catholic Missionaries of Our Lady of LaSalette when back in 1999 a visiting priest fell asleep with a lit cigarette and the rest is history as we say. We posted a few before, during and after the fire pictures. This is a 2 stage multi that will take you to a couple of our favorite spots, no bushwacking is required. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we do.
