Geocache Description:

There is a Trail/road that leaves from the left of the parking area but it is being logged off and mucky. I prefer to bushwack from the right side of the parking area there is a nice stone wall path next to a cemetary that will get you started. Congrats to BOATRS on the FTF. I'm glad you made it back out to log your visit... GOOD JOB! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ok the gigs up, The cache is out and the storie can be told, This is how my Alien Abduction cache came to be. On november 16th I was out caching with IAMSURVIVORMAN It was a great day for it and I think we had around 7 finds total for the day. Our last cache of the day was Hubby and blues book bank GCQH4P by derb5222002 strangely enough. We found the cache traded books and were on our way back home down the class 6 road that grants acccess to that cache area. Iamsurvivorman suddenly said, Hey I just saw a box back there that looked like a geocache box... Well the area is unfortunately trashed and would benifit from a big CITO event. the sun was setting and I wanted to get home. I dismissed it as garbage. I kept on driving on down the dirt road and he kept insisting on going back, finaly and reluctantly I jacked on the brakes and backed up almost a quarter mile until he said There! There! he was pointing out the window at what I thought was the ground... I looked and saw nothing... Where? I repeated, there is nothing there! Well it was about then he said, NO Across the river dont you see it!!! He probably felt like saying DUHHH! he new better than that. Sure enough I peered across the river Now in fading light and I could just barely make out a green rectangle in a tangle of brush at the waters edge. You would not believe how far off the road and across the river it was... I still cant believe he saw it cruising down the road at speed. Now my interest was peaked I still wasnt convinced it was an ammo can. We had to bushwack up river about 1/4 of a mile to find a tree down that would allow us to cross over the river to get to the opposite bank. The water was deep and it was cold! As we neared the box it became clear that it was infact an ammo can. I just thought I must have been lost by a hunter or just thrown out at some time. I never would have dreamed that it was an actual geocache. But sure enough when we pulled it out of the brush.... Behold, The Johnsonboro bridge treasure GCPJGGG last log entry Oct. 13, 2005. I actually got goose bumps Ive never been so excited to find anything EVER! Im kind of a nostalgic type so this was really cool....We opened it up and everythng was as it was when Daddy Oh No had last held the log book in 2005. The only thing that would have been any better was if there was a lost trackable but no such luck. I couldnt wait to email Derb and tell her... But noooooo thats not my style I had to come up with a plan, something like this doesnt happen every day. I think my first hint that I had her cache was dropped in my logs for my cache finds for the day. I had found two of Derbs caches that day. Eventually as my plan came to Into action I actually emailed Derb with some wierd emails about strange lights in the forest. We have never met and I could only think she must have thought I was A nutjob... This is when the Alien Abduction CACHE GC1JGGG idea came to be. Ive always been a fan of sci fi and Close Encounters of the third kind... What If the JBBT was actually taken by something, versus just going MIA due to a run of the mill flood, how fun would that be. BORING!!! So after weeks of planning and a few wierd phone calls to The GSGC message line on the day of AA's landing the now archived JBBT treasure cache was inside of the LARGE Alien Abduction ammo can cache... just waiting for derb to go and find it. I was hoping she would be the FTF but I was still happy when it was Boatrs That got the FTF. I didnt want to give her to much of a lead by out and out telling her about the cache ahead of everyone else. I wish I could have had a game camera taking pics when she found it.... But guess what... SHE DIDNT SEE IT IN THE CACHE when she found it... I was crushed she didnt say much in her log and thought maybe it just wasnt a big deal to her... Well it turns out there was so much stuff in the cache she overlooked it . I will say that the cache is a pain in the arse to get out, or at least it was... I went back today and moved it...Its much easier to get to now. So after all that and a few hints saying that she HAD to go back for a surprise just for her, she went back this last saturday with Camaro kid and guess what? SHE STILL COULDNT GET HER CACHE BACK... The cache box had wedged into the rocks and couldnt be removed This has been one strange And Fun adventure I wouldnt change a thing!!! weve had so much fun with this cache find and the placement of Alien Abduction. I went back to my cache today and extricated JBBT cache from the grip of the little gray men. Once again it is safely in my keeping. hopefully Im gonna meet with Derb soon or her sister and hand deliver it... The Big question now is what is Derb gonna do With GCPJGG? I would think that this must be some kind of geocaching first... Also I have To give all of the credit of this little adventure to my son, Bowen aka IAMSURVIVORMAN. If not for his incredible eyesite who knows if The Johnsonboro bridge treasure would ever have been found... GEOCACHING ROCKS!!!
