Uma viagem até e pela Serra Algarvia é sempre surpreendente,pela paisagem, perfumes da vegetação e pela vista fabulosa até ao Mar. (A travel up to and through the Serra Algarvia it is always surprising, for the scenery, perfumes of the vegetation and for the fabulous sight even to the Sea.)
Em passeio de carro é possível sair de estrada seguindo oeste em caminho alternativo e na encruzilhada, seguindo para sul vai encontrar-se o observatório que se avista. Aqui, a 536m de altitude encontram-se ruínas de dois moinhos. Que vista maravilhosa com o tempo limpo, que agradável e longínquo horizonte este proporcionado pela Serra Algarvia. No caso de ser um dia Invernoso, e o nevoeiro abundar fica-se isolado do universo,envolto em um manto branco, com vista para as árvores mais próximas, medronheiros e Quercus sp. entre outras.Mas… subindo ao observatório, todo o Algarve fica a nossos pés e podemos desfrutar da Beleza da Serra Algarvia. Muito embora o ponto mais elevado da Serra Algarvia seja em Fóia e não aqui em São Brás de Alportel.Vale a pena conhecer este Algarve e tê-lo aos pés.
If you go for a ride it is possible to go out of the road following west in an alternative way and in the crossroads, following south is possible to find the observatory, that you have at sight. Here, 536m of altitude you can find ruins of two mills. What marvellous sight with clean weather, what pleasant and distant this perspective provided by the Serra Algarvia. In case of a winter day, and the thick fog abound, you will feel isolated from the universe, wrapped in a white mantle, with sight only for the nearest trees, medronheiros and Quercus sp. between others. But … going up to the observatory all the Algarve will be under your feet and you can enjoy of the Beauty of the Serra Algarvia. Although, the most elevated point of the Serra Algarvia is in Fóia and not here in São Brás de Alportel.It is worthwhile to know this Algarve and to have it on the feet.
