How Geocaching Works
This cache will take you to the original main entrance sign for our primary facility. Our ambulances are currently based just down the block, and the Emergency Department is less than half that distance away.
The largest obstacle to grabbing this cache will be the muggles. Smoking is not allowed on hospital property, thanks to a state law, but smoking on public property (i.e., the roadway and its associated right-of-way) is still legal - therefore, staff members take their smoke breaks along this roadway. Also, the ED parking lot is nearby. Any time of the day or night, people will be coming and going.
While this cache may be (not "IS" - just may be) wheelchair accessible, the wheelchair would have to be positioned in an active roadway, and I don't recommend this. It's good for our job security, but poor for your safety, and that is MUCH more important to me!!!
The best parking places outside of normal working hours is probably across McNeil Street. During the day, though, getting a good spot ANYWHERE is diffifult. Parking across Main Street will be a better option during those times, but is still a game of chance.
