When I was walking out to place this one, I
still had no name for it. I knew inspiration would strike..and it
did.
As the sun set and the wind began to blow, my
head lamp made the area surrounding me seem like a snowglobe. The
darker it got, the more the snow swirled in snowglobe-like fashion.
My grandmother (not my Jewish bubbe) had a very old snowglobe of a
man bent over carrying a Christmas tree. I used to shake that ball
vigorously hoping the snow would never stop swirling. I was a full
grown adult before I ever experienced that kind of snow in person.
After nine winters in Vermont it is still new and exciting to
me.
This cache is on a VAST trail. I would have
loved to explore deeper, but it was just too dark considering I did
not know the area at all. Please use caution while hiking here.
Listen for the sounds of the snowmobiles, they can be upon upon you
before you know it. This cache might not stay up in summer when the
gates close, so better go get it now. I met some snowmobilers on
the trail who said this area might be off-limits in the summer.
Also, I failed to include a FTF prize, so IOU, sorry. But there is
some good swag in there that is good enough for a FTF.
Thanks to Chrisnic2 for making the snow fly
in my snowglobe on this cache page!
