Genoa, Illinois
This cache is dedicated to Brett Kubasiak. Tragically, on July 5,
1997 Brett was hit by a car and died one week later. If Brett were
here today, he would be 16 years old attending Genoa-Kingston High
School in Genoa, Illinois. Each year in June a 5K (3.1 mile)
walk/run race is held in his honor.
I picked this location for the cache as this is on the route of the
5K run. It’s also a serene location as the cache is on a
newly constructed pedestrian bridge which crosses over the
Kishwaukee River amidst the trees and vegetation.
Bring your own pencil. Small fingers or a pair of tweezers might be
necessary. Parking is available on Madison Street with a short
paved walkway to the location of the cache.
