Introduction:
Facing Rock Wildlife Management area was home to the now archived
Face Off multi cache. Face Off was one of the first caches I found.
It was on a humid 90+ degree August day. A nearly 4 mile hike for 1
smiley. The good news is you can now try for 3 smileys, the bad
news is it's still a long tough hike.
The Series:
This is one of three caches I am placing in Facing Rock WMA in
Ludlow. To find this cache you must first find
Face The Nation and
Face The Music. Each of these caches contain one half of the
coordinates to locate this cache.
IMPORTANT
The coordinates at each of these caches are in the same coded
format as the coordinates for their respective cache. You will have
to decode these at each location. Whatever you needed to solve the
puzzles for each of those caches you will need in the field to get
the coordinates for this cache
The Cache:
This cache will require a long hike, finding two other caches along
the way and solving puzzles to get the final coordinates. My
tracklog for the round trip was over three and a half miles. There
are many trails in the area but the placement of the caches should
direct you to the best route. All three caches are a short distance
off of well defined trails, no need for any bushwacking. The cache
is a 9 x 6 x 3 lock and lock type container. Please trade up or
trade even. Please do not post any information about how you solved
the puzzle or the location of any of the caches in your log
