Cache is a camo'd pill bottle along the Bay to Ridge Trail system
in Foothills Park. This hide will be considered somewhat "evil" by
most. Coords will almost certainly be iffy. It will help to stand
in middle of nearby bridge and look out over the small canyon.
Twenty-five degrees magnetic North from this spot you will see a
group of trees along the high/right hand side of the trail. The
cache is very near there. Cache can be reached from the
trail.
You can enter this park through three primary ways and parking
coords are listed for each: (1) through Pearson-Arastradero
Preserve (N37 23.224 W122 10.448); (2) coming down from the Los
Trancos Open Space Preserve (OSP) main parking area (N37 19.563
W122 10.787); or (3) from the Los Trancos trailhead gate #LT01 (N37
19.997 W122 10.538). LT01 has room for a few vehicles only. For an
easier hike you can do a vehicle shuttle, leaving one vehicle down
at Arastradero, driving another up Page Mill Rd. and hiking down
from either of the Los Trancos OSP entrances. It's about 2 miles to
the Foothills Park border from either Arastradero or the Los
Trancos LT01 gate. Starting from the Los Trancos main parking lot
further up on Page Mill Road will increase the mileage to reach the
Foothills Park border.
Foothills Park and Arastradero Preserve are both open 8 a.m. to
sunset. Los Trancos OSP has different hours and is open a half an
hour before sunrise until a half an hour after sunset. Please only
cache during park hours. Non residents of Palo Alto are allowed to
hike into Foothills through either Arastradero or Los Trancos but
are not allowed to walk in from Page Mill Rd. To give you an idea
of distances, when this cache was hid today, catomcat and I hiked
12 miles. This included down and back through lower Los Trancos
(parking at gate LT01) as well getting all of the caches in
Foothills Park (and in lower Los Trancos). A Foothills Park map can
