Geocache Description:

Access this site by foot from many local parking lots. Busy intersection, so please be careful.

We brought you here because this is the original site of the 1852 Mtn. View. hotel and stage stop and later, the St. Joseph Parish from 1901 - 2001 (see photo). Now it's a car dealership. Too bad.

We love El Camino Real, because we are after all, streetwalkers. El Camino Real translates to "The King's Highway". This is the path the original padres traveled to build California missions. El Camino Real starts just south of San Diego and ends in Sonoma. I've read that the padres threw out mustard seed on their journey so that when it bloomed, they could find their way home. Thus, California is now blanketed with golden yellow mustard plants in the Spring.

We had a 14' accuracy on our coords, so please don't venture into the middle of El Camino or Grant Road. Yes, this is a heavy muggle area, but you should be ignored at this intersection if you tie your shoes while grabbing the cache. The drivers are too concerned with getting to where they're going to notice you.

The cache contains a log and small trade items including an authentic ancient Roman coin for the FTF. This coin has nice markings, so I would keep it as part of your personal stash.

Ok, it sound like you may be amazed by the most discreet cache location in the Bay Area. Trust me, you could look for this in the dark with a blow torch (don't try it!) and no one would notice. I almost called this intersection "Crossroads of the Zombies".
