Geocache Description:

On the road from St Louis to Harmoine State Park in Indiana

There are cachers that see an opportunity to pick up trash, and take it!

Harmonie State Park is located "on the banks of the Wabash," 25 miles northwest of Evansville. A beautiful swimming pool, shady picnic areas, ravines and pristine landscape await you here. This is a trail lover's paradise! Trails for walking, biking and nature hikes will lure you for a visit. Also, 3 Geocaches are presently placed on the grounds! Nearby historic New Harmony honors two unique communities from the early 1800s. The Rappites located here in 1814. They were fleeing from religious persecution and awaiting the impending millennium. In 1824, the Owenites brought many great scientists and philosophers into the area when they purchased the Rappites holdings. Lets do our part in cleaning up the environment on the way to GeoWoodstock 7 and clean this park up! For the Finale of this leg of the trip we have coordinated a CITO Event!

What: Cache In Trash Out!
When: 21 May 2009 from 1300-Dark...
Where: Harmoine State Park
Why: To do a Green Clean for the local parks! The Park is providing the Trash Bags, Gloves, and a Dumpster for the actual trash to go into when we're done.

Please Note: Although there is NOT a charge for the event there is a per Vehicle fee at the gate($4 In-state, $7 Out-of-State). Geocachers CAN Carpool if you want to. Detailed maps of Harmonie State Park
