Geocache Description:

This cache is located in a small urban park adjacent to the Old Firehouse Museum in South Hadley Falls.

My daughters wanted to place a park and grab cache where they thought it would see more visitors then a cache hidden in the woods. We think the museum and the little adjacent park are interesting. The Old Firehouse, built in 1889, is the Historical Society headquarters and contains two floors of exhibits representing local history. The museum has limited hours and exhibits a collection of fire fighting apparatus, fire pumpers and fire engines, canal history, Connecticut River Valley artifacts, early domestic, agricultural and commercial furnishings. High muggle activity in this mixed residential and commercial neighborhood will make the find challenging. After we placed the cache we learned that the museum is also a listed “Waymark”. It is best to approach GZ from within the park on North Main Street because the fence along Carew Street will make an approach from above difficult.
