On the trail and not hard to find, despite it's size
This cache is in honor of a great-great uncle I never met..."Crazy Pete's Road" reminds my of my grandfather's stories about his "Crazy Uncle Jack". My grandfather was born in 1911, so his crazy uncle was probably born back around 1885, most likely near Greenfield Massachusetts.
What were the stories that made him worthy of his name? Well, he seems to have been a bit of a vigilante and a workerofwood. The best story is about him thinking his neighbor was stealing firewood from his wood pile. He said something to the neighbor, who, of course, denied it. The problem kept continuing, so he decided to set a trap.
He hollowed-out a log and inserted a stick of dynamite into it and placed it back on top of his own woodpile. The next day the neighbor's house had a large explosion in the fireplace and nearly burned the house down. Problem solved!
I wonder if "Crazy Pete" can top that one?
I think he would have made a heck of a Geocacher as long as he kept the dangerous stuff at home...
