The Pittsburgh Steelers are Super Bowl Champions for the sixth
time! This cache is the final prize of a series to honor Sixburgh,
the only city to have six Super Bowl trophies!
During the 2008 season, the Steelers accomplished the amazing
feat of winning their sixth Super Bowl despite having played the
toughest schedule in the NFL. Led by the dominant Steeler defense,
one of the best if not the best ever in NFL history, the Steelers
made it through their tough schedule, winning their division and
beating the Chargers and Ravens to make it to Super Bowl XLIII
against the Cardinals. Then, in what might be the best Super Bowl
game ever, the Steelers brought home their sixth trophy after a
game that featured the longest touchdown play in Super Bowl history
(James Harrison's 100-yard interception return) and an amazing
final drive that ended with a TD pass from Ben Roethlisberger to
MVP Santonio Holmes.
This cache should not be attempted after dark. Also, parking is
limited at the cache site to probably no more than one or two cars.
The FTF prize is just Terribly perfect for anyone who likes this
series!
This cache is the culmination of a six-cache series. You must
get the first five and collect the numbers in them in order to
figure out where this one is placed. Here's the tricky part.
First, find X. There is a "pattern" to the numbers placed in the
first five caches. Figure out the pattern, and then ask yourself
what number should be in this cache. That number is X.
Figuring out Y is much simpler: Y = the sum of the five numbers
in the first five caches.
You will find the final prize Y hundredths of a mile from the
posted coordinates, at a bearing of X degrees.
(Note: due to the nature of the math involved in this puzzle,
this cache was hidden with special permission from the reviewer,
allowing the posted coordinates to be more than two miles from the
final cache.)
