You should find this a fairly easy Park n Grab. Flat level area. There is ample parking near by.
Incorporated in 1638, Exeter was one of the four original towns settled in New Hampshire. It was first named Squamscott, and was later given the name of Exeter by the settlement's managers, the "Exeter Combination," which was a group of English colonizers. The river location to the town, along the banks of the Exeter River and within 10 miles of the Atlantic Ocean, made it a shipbuilding center and West Indies trading port.
The center piece of this park was created by a resident of Exeter and famous sculptor, Daniel Chester French, who also was the creator of the Minuteman Statue that stands in Lexington, Massachusetts and the statue of Abraham Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial, in Washington, DC.
Daniel French designed the War Memorial at local Gale Park. This is a War Memorial & Park at the corner of Linden Street & Front Street was donated to the Town of Exeter by Alice Gale Hobson, in memory of her father, General Stephen H. Gale. The Park & War Memorial was dedicated on July 4, 1922.
This Cache is located in Gale Park. Check out the statue, it is fabulous!
Winter friendly, Stealth may be required depending on the time and day that you go. There may be traffic in the area, it is a busy intersection at times.
