No matter what we do or who we do it with, or how the weather is outside or even the time of the day, there are always special people out there that have the ability to put a smile on our faces and make the time one to remember and hold close to our hearts.
The friends of the kingdom series of caches is meant to thank those friends of our royal family in a way that shares our experiences with the rest of the remarkable caching community. There are dedicated caches for milestones and for significant family events, but this series is simply an effort to thank those special people out there that have made caching even more special to us.
The first in our series of special caches for special people is dedicated to the very first team we encountered in our young caching lives.
The BRIGHT SHINING STARS have been true friends to our family (and I am very sure to the rest of the community as well). After we joined in March of 2008 we were full of energy and went out quickly for a few close finds to our home. Not knowing exactly how the whole game worked or even what the question marks meant on the cache pages, we certainly wrote some interesting logs.
What does TFTC mean? What does TNLNSL mean? How do you retrieve trackables and what do you do with them? What in the heck is a FTF and how do you get them? Can anyone put coins out there and how do you track where they are?
About a month after we started, we got a wonderful e-mail. The BRIGHT SHINING STARS welcomed us to the caching family and even invited us to go out with them one day (which we still want to take them up on). They congratulated us on our first 10 finds (which at the time we were very proud of) and gave us some tips on how to find more. They have even sent follow up messages that have always made us chuckle. Team BRIGHT SHINING STARS is a group of wonderful adults and kids that make Derry a better place to live
The sweetest family you ever did meet, the STARS team has always been supportive, helpful and encouraging. They certainly have made this a much better experience for my entire family and their logs always put a smile on our faces. We have often looked for their hides and enjoyed every one of them.
The BRIGHT SHINING STARS are truly a friend of Derry’s Enchanted Kingdom and the royal family that resides within. They are very welcome additions to our extended family and when the STARS smile the world is a happier place. We are honored to call them friends and humbled at all their successes.
THANK YOU BRIGHT SHINING STARS FOR MAKING OUR EXPERIENCES BETTER EACH AND EVERY DAY WE CACHE! YOU ARE THE SWEETEST FAMILY AROUND AND IT DOES NOT GO UNNOTICED.
