Tiny Often Empty Park (#1 Re-Done): N Brunswick NJ Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

On 10/21/2005 Kitegirl placed Tiny Often Empty Park (#1): North Brunswick, NJ.

YES folks, that was the original - the one that started it all - the "Tiny Often Empty Park Tour"!!!

Sadly the original was archived on 12/31/2011 due to changes in the park - in all it had a total of 109 finds and 13 DNFs.

...But the good news is that Kitegirl's vision of getting people into those tiny often empty parks has taken off and contuinues to grow - as of the date of submission of this new cache, there were 71 known caches added to the Tiny Often Empty Park Tour - check out the bookmark! And so, as the story continues we submit to you...

Tiny Often Empty Park (#1 Re-Done): N. Brunswick NJ.

It has been placed in the original park.

From the original cache page, Kitegirl's words remain mostly the same:

A micro in a micro park, be prepared for a little signal bounce. Bring a pen, log only cache. Please log all DNF's! !iC??

You probably have seen a lot of these tiny parks that no one goes to… They might have a bench, maybe a memorial of sorts, perhaps a lonely deserted swing set, maybe nothing but a few trees. But the park is tiny, and you hardly ever see people there. My hope is to bring people to tiny parks all over the country/world. After all, our tax dollars paid for them.

I look at this cache as sort of a pyramid cache that will grow and spread. If you know of a tiny park, follow the instructions below and put a cache there! Then e-mail me and I’ll list your tiny park in the Tiny Often Empty Park Tour bookmark. Let’s see how many Tiny Parks we can get caches and people in!

TO BE A PART OF THIS PYRAMID CACHE AND TO HAVE YOUR TINY PARK LISTED, PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING:

1. Find a tiny park and plant a cache there. If you can walk the perimeter of the park in about a minute or so, it probably qualifies as a tiny park.

2. Name the Cache: “Tiny Often Empty Park:(town name, state)”

3. In the cache description, you must include the following paragraph: “This cache is part of the “Tiny Often Empty Park Tour”. Please visit the cache that started it all. It’s called “Tiny Often Empty Park (#1): North Brunswick, NJ” (GCR1V3). Please visit the re-done cache that replaced the original. It’s called “Tiny Often Empty Park (#1 Re-Done): N. Brunswick NJ(GC1NJ56)" to find out how you can add your own “Tiny Often Empty Park” to the tour."

4. When your cache gets approved, e-mail me with the cache name and I will add it to a Tiny Often Empty Park Tour bookmark.

Thanks Kitegirl - we owe you one!!!
