Geocache Description:

Access: When coming from road 10, from the direction of Budapest, pass the railway-crossing at Nyergesújfalu and turn left in front of the Lukoil petrol station, and then proceed until you reach the indicated parking area. You can go up to the hilltop in about 10 minutes. Place of the box: The kitchen box of 20 cm x 15 cm x 6 cm dimensions is hidden in a bush on the top of the hill.

Story of the box: The name of Nyergesújfalu was first mentioned as Nyergedszeg in the chronicle of Simon Kézai in the writing form around 1280. On the Sánc-mountain near to the village, even the Roman had built a significant fort, ruins of which were fortified later by the troops of Rákóczi, but on 28th September, 1706, the fort was occupied and destroyed by the pro-Austrian soldiers. Today only the foundations covered with soil of the fortification can be seen.
