"Pass in Shinshu" Series #1
The Enrei pass is usually called a Shiojiri pass.
It is in the boundary in Okaya City and Shiojiri City, and has been said before that Shingen Takeda and Nagatoki Ogasawara fought in this region.
This pass was a dangerous place of Nakasendo in the pass in the National Highway No. 20 before.
It is a dangerous place where it climbs the steep slope though the pass of Nakasendo still remains about 1km in the north.
It is written as the Shiojiri pass to call the Enrei pass only by the local also on the map.
Is the purpose to call the region in the pass "Enrei"?

塩嶺峠は、通常では塩尻峠と言われています。
岡谷市と塩尻市の境にあり、かつては武田信玄と小笠原長時がこの一帯で戦ったともいわれています。
この峠は国道２０号の峠で、かつては中山道の難所でした。
今でも中山道の峠が、1km程北に残っていますが、急坂を登って行く難所です。
塩嶺峠と呼ぶのは地元の人のみで、地図上でも塩尻峠と書かれています。
峠の一帯を「塩嶺」と呼ぶためでしょうか。
