Geocache Description:

A wonderful spot just off the new Chestnut Trail on Pine Cobble Mountain

Pine Cobble Mountain has been a favorite of mine since I went to college here in 1984. Until recently I did not even know this particular spot existed, as it is far off the usual trail to the summit. There is now a new trail system that takes you right to these cliffs, and I wanted to place a cache here to bring people out to see this. So, enjoy, and be careful, lots of places to twist an ankle in the boulder field at the base of the cliffs. And, yes, you have to "wade" through the boulder field to find this.

Parking is at the new trailhead at the coordinates below. Hikers are very welcome. The hike is about a mile each way, and is gently uphill. Follow the darker and lighter blue blazes, and turn left when you reach the "Class of 1998" trail junction. The cache is only a few hundred feet from there. The mountain laurel should be beautiful in June. The terrain rating is because of the boulder-field.
