Pareidolia :-) Cross-Eyed Mary
In Wisconsin, United States
How Geocaching Works
Who would be a poor man,
a beggarman, a thief --
If he had a rich man in his hand.
And who........ would steal........ the candy
From a........ laughing baby's........ mouth
If he could take it from the money man.
Cross-eyed Mary goes jumping in again.
She signs no contract
But she always plays the game.
Dines in Hampstead Village
On expense accounted gruel,
And the jack-knife barber
drops her off at school.
The term pareidolia describes a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant. Common examples include seeing images of animals or faces in clouds, the man in the moon, and hearing hidden messages on records played in reverse. The word comes from the Greek para- —"beside", "with" or "alongside"- meaning, in this context, something faulty or wrong (as in paraphasia, disordered speech)—and eidolon—"image" (the diminutive of eidos—"image", "form", "shape"). Pareidolia is a type of apophenia. - wikipedia

Just like her Son, Mary has also been "seen" in many unusual places. In fact, some people hold these sighting in such high spiritual regard that they will pay thousands of dollars to posses one. The infamous decade-old cheese sandwich in the background sold for $28,000 on eBay. Now that's devotion! No matter what you think about these sightings or how much stock you put in them, it sure is fun to do the research. Here's a list of some of the sightings pictured above, just match them up to get your final cords. P.S., it helps if you cross your eyes a little!
