Oak Grove Cemetery
Oak Grove Cemetery is the final resting place for many early
pioneers of Pleasant township and is still in use. Several
generations of some of those families can be found here, some very
recent. The earliest stone dates back to 1830; the earliest found
so far is that of Charles Hunter who died in 1836. This cemetery is
in excellent condition with very few toppled and broken stones
visible. However, many early stones are so weather worn they are
difficult or impossible to read. The cemetery is cared for by the
Pleasant Township trustees.
Cache Location
The cemetery is located on Alkire Road, Galloway OH 43119. From
I-270, take the West Broad Street (U.S. 40) exit west. Go about 5
miles on Broad Street and turn left on Darby Creek Drive. Go about
4 miles to Alkire Road and turn right. Cemetery is about 0.5 miles
on right.
