A presente cache faz parte de um
conjunto de 3 caches associadas a Torres/Fortalezas, existentes no
Concelho de Olhão.
Esta Torre terá, possivelmente, desempenhado funções de habitação
de um dos primeiros senhores cristãos encarregues do senhorio e
povoamento desta zona (segunda metade do século
XIII,
inícios do século
XIV).1328
é a data provável da construção, por
D.
Dinis, segundo lápide outrora existente (actualmente
desaparecida) na face Sul.Implantada num espaço rural
encontra-se isolada na margem da ribeira de
Quelfes.
De planta quadrangular está em avançado estado de degradação.
No entanto, é ainda perceptível vestígios dos
apoios dos pisos em madeira, dos orifícios e grágulas e de um friso
que ornamenta a parte superior da antiga torre de vigia.
Fazia parte de um grupo de estruturas militares
que vigiavam a costa
algarvia.

is the probable date of the construction, for D. Dinis, according
to tombstone once upon a time existent (when it at present
disappeared) in the South face. Introduced in a rural space it is
isolated in the edge of the riverside of
Quelfes.
Of quadrangular plant it is in advanced state of degradation.
However, it is still perceptible tracks of the supports of the
floors in wood, of the orifices and grágulas and of a border that
decorates the superior part of the ancient watch-tower. It was
making part of a group of military structures that were watching
the coast from the Algarve.
