How Geocaching Works
While out grabbing one of the caches nearby, and checking my other cache here, I too, like Sagasu, decided to place another cache here on these Public Grounds.
This brings the number of caches in this Hunting area to four, making the trip a definate worth while endevor.
This stretch of DNR lands was the first public grounds I had ever hunted on during my youth. There were a few places that made good sitting spots out here when hunting squirrels. This point was one of them. Things have grown up alot since then and it is not quite how I remember but I bet the hunting is still good.
Located on Wisconsin DNR public hunting and fishing grounds. Wear Blaze orange if searching this cache during open hunting seasons.
Most visitors to this area will be greeted by the sounds of cranes, geese and other birds. You may sight deer, squirrels and rabbits. You may even sight another cacher!
Parking is located at N44 13.769 / W88 41.223
Cache is located less than .3 miles from the parking
The trek to the cache may be a soggy, wet trek depending on time of year and rainfall totals. I did manage to stay dry(ish) when placing this.
The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Steve Hoffman at the Waupaca Office of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager. The DNR Notification form and land manager information can be obtained here
