Geocache Description:

A larger spice jar along the Bay Area Ridge Trail in Sierra Azul

The Bay Area Ridge Trail ultimately will be a 550+ mile trail encircling the San Francisco Bay along the ridge tops, open to hikers, equestrians, mountain bicyclists, and outdoor enthusiasts of all types. To date there are over 310 miles of trail for use by Bay Area residents, now and forever.

We started our own BART challenge on this hike which I believe is the longest segment in the system. In order to get full brownie points you should hike the actual trail which runs from Lexington to Hicks Road via the length of the Priest Rock Trail, along Kennedy to Woods Road and out to parking at Hicks Road. The total length is about 12 miles with 3200 feet of elevation gain in this direction, somewhat less in the reverse direction.

I'll probably be back up with an ammo can soon so if you're into that kind of thing wait for the new container.

Enjoy!
