Geocache Description:

This is the third of three caches dedicated to Hannah Dustin. Hannah was the mother of a large family living on what was then the frontier in Haverhill, MA. She is famous for outwitting her captors, killing them and escaping home to rejoin her family. See also "1st Woman to Have a Statue Erected", and "Captured Here!" caches for more information. Any google search of Hannah Dustin will bring up a wealth of information about her. A very active Dustin-Duston Family Association continues to meet for family reunions and add research about their famous ancestor.

This cache is hidden near the site of the garrison building Hannah's husband Thomas (a bricklayer by trade) completed for her to live in after she returned from captivity. The building survives as one of the earliest examples of 17th century 2-story brick construction in America.

There is no real parking available around the area. We parked on the side of the road near Garrison Golf. There is enough room on the side of the road not to be a hazard to other drivers. You can also park on the dirt road. The cache does not disturb the garrison building in any way. Be aware of many dry logs and sticks on your way to the cache. Please make sure you snap the DECON CONTAINER shut after logging. There is room for small trackables. Do not leave any swag.

4/25/2014 Checked on this cache today after a note from a cacher. If you find a skeleton in a tree (old location) head toward the road 50+ feet.
