Miranda Grey Cat: Thanks for all the finds and smilies! I'm archiving this one (my first ever geocache!) because the entry path is very overgrown, some folks have encountered ticks, and one person said I should disable it because the log is wet. What with the dangers presented by ticks these days, I sadly agree. Perhaps there will be a Celebration Cache 2.0 nearby in the future. Happy Caching!

Geocache Description:

This cache was placed in honor of the graduation and birthday of half of the geocaching team of MirandaGreyCat.

December 2011 note: last cacher reported lots of TICKS... be forewarned.

The cache location is a nice walk from downtown Keene once you get past the construction mess near Railroad Square. Or, if you prefer, there's a small parking area very near.

Cacher arniej kindly provided the following historical information about this area: Where the cache is was once a railbed coming into Keene from the south (Troy) and the interesting structure nearby is an abutment for another railroad that came in from the east (Marlborough & Chesham direction) and crossed over the southerly one at this point. There are smaller concrete blocks along the railbed that supported the upper structure as it traveled over the lower one. (Thanks, arniej!)

You're looking for a plastic Ovaltine container.

A couple of people have had a bit of trouble with the approach. As GeoCrashThatch says, "If you have any difficulty trying to find this one, rethink your approach. It should be very easy if you do. We did." (Thanks GeoCrashThatch!)

We stopped out to check the cache on June 27th and I'm pretty sure there was a tick on my pants after walking in. Watch out for these nasties!
