Western Branch - BDC Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Wis Kid: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

The Beaver Dam Creek was an important waterway for the original inhabitants of the area. As farm land and later residential properties came into the area, the Creek was an important diversion route for heavy rains and spring run off. As it travels eventually to the north, it joins up with the famous "Duck Creek" which empties into the "Bay of Green Bay". This location is near the midpoint of open water remaining between the S.W. start and where the East and West parts of the creek meet. Much of the creek has been channeled by large underground culverts to make the "urban sprawl" more convenient but not here! Look to the East and West as you find the cache and you will see what I mean. This area is pretty much left in its natural state, even though it is so close to the encroaching urban sprawl. Watch for deer as you approach. I saw tracks! This cache is winter friendly and is winter available. It is a small container which should not take you long to find and log in. There are actually two containers inside, one for the log and another for swag! So if you are just logging you will not have to "wade through" the swag. Please try not to leave a trail right to the cache and replace the parts the exact same way you found them!
