Geocache Description:

The Girls supported the Japanese Industry.

"Pass in Shinshu" Series #4

Is this pass the most famous in the pass in a certain meaning Nagano Prefecture?
It is a pass that became the place of novel and movie "Ah! Nomugi Toge(Nomugi Pass)".

It was silk reeler industry that had supported from Maiji period to the beginning of the Showa peiod, about the export of Japan.
Okaya and the Suwa area where I had been born and grow up were one large silk reeler industrial cities before. The historic site when the silk reeler industry is active variously remains it is.
My grandmother seemed also to have worked at the silk factory in old times.

Girls chiefly in her teens had exceeded this pass aiming at such Okaya from the recesses of Hida (Northern Gifu area).

There is a material pavilion where those days' appearances etc. are told now.

There is cache while facing the memorial cenotaph of Mine Masai that died here as a heroine of this novel.

Cache is a plastic case with 630ml.

Let's enjoy caching!
