A 5 part multi in the Indian Head River Open Space land; part of the Hanover MA Greenway. There have been caches placed at the Dwelley Stone in the past, but they are archived. This cache is not at the Dwelley Stone, but the multi takes you by this landmark. (The old cache is actually still there.)
The trek is 1.6 miles over moderate hilly terrain.
The Dwelley Stone is a large rounded granite boulder, onto which J. H. Dwelley chiseled his name in 1857.
The stone is the most personable artifact in the area, but by no means the only one. The parcel is full of ruins and remnants of early historical industries that took advantage of the Indian Head river, which falls 32 feet from Factory Pond to Luddam's Ford. This path takes you past old dams and levees built by colonials to harness water power.
The terrain is quite variable, with rock ledges and steep slopes near the southside riverbank, and hummocks and hills rising as much as 130 ft. toward the interior of the lot.
The first 4 stages are 8 oz juice bottles with the next stage coordinates. They are not visible, but are only slightly hidden. Please be sure they are invisible when re-hidden; the forest is recreation space for the town's adolescents.

The final is near the prettiest spot on the river. Unfortunately, there was poison ivy at every hiding place, so I placed it in a safe area further back. See the pretty place while you're there.
And, keep an eye out for the Dwelley Stone; you will be passing it. (It's hard to miss.)
