As legend has it, before Long Tail became a peninsula, it was an island and apparently horses and cows occasionally got marooned out there, and died. Hence, Dead Horse Bay.
Today, Long Tail is a peninsula, but only marginally so. Getting to this cache will present different challenges depending upon the time of the year. Bring the right gear or plan on getting wet and cut up. If it's been really dry out, you might get lucky and stay dry. Regardless, it is about a mile walk round-trip. You might also be able to access this by boat.
You are looking for a micro. You're coming for the challenge and the view, not for the McD toys, right?
