“Robinson State Park serves as a major day use area for the Springfield region. Donated to the state in 1934 by John C. Robinson, the facility includes over 800 acres with five miles of frontage on the Westfield River.
A paved road that runs along the River’s edge creates access to the park available for cars, foot traffic, bicycles, strollers, and wheelchairs leading to the swimming pond, playing fields picnic areas and the launch area for canoeing and kayaking.
Approximately 20 miles of trails in the park are shared by walkers, hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders. Many of them offer scenic views of the Westfield River, including the 17 acre island west of the falls at Mittineague, which is one of the park's most picturesque spots. “

The quotation above comes from the Mass.DCR website describing Robinson State Park.
It give no indication of how tough some of the trails can be, nor of the wild life that inhabits this environment. I seen eagles soaring overhead , as well as a bear being scared away by a girl scout troop, and everything in between that is indigenous to the area. I believe this is one of western Mass.’ best kept family parks. The pugs and I should have a P.O. Box here ,we spend so much time here.

Considering the vastness of the park and the number of caches already here, one more can fit in just fine. This one is a ammo can. Once you locate this one ,you will need to go see Caribbean Queen and Geosplunk to retrieve it. We will be waiting for you 11 paces east (if you are 5’9”) of said can. The trails leading to this one are not too bad, some hills , but they are easy compared to what is around.
F-T-F: $20.00 Philadelphia note,, good luck trying to buy anything with it, when it was redeemable , you could only redeem it in Philly!!!!!!

At times there may be a parking fee, there are places outside the park to park ,but hiking time will increase.
