Dalskär on pieni Metsähallituksen omistama saari Paraisten eteläosassa, hieman Gullkronasta itään. Saari on muodoltaan itään avautuva V jossa on hieno ja suojaisa luonnonsatama kaikilla muilla paitsi koillisen ja idän välisillä tuulilla. Saarella on kaksi vessaa ja grillipaikkaa.
Saarelta on erinomaiset näköalat eteläiselle Saaristomerelle. Aavaa merta, muutamia saaria, aurinkoa … pohjoisessa puolestaan pääosassa ovat isommat saaret.
Saarelle ajettaessa on syytä varoa keskellä sisäänajoa olevia kareja. Parasta on seurata pohjoispuolen rantaa noin 20-25 metrin etäisyydellä. Lahti mataloituu loppua kohden niin että vettä riittää vain moottoriveneille. Purjeveneille on pohjoisrannalla muutama kiinnittymiskohta. Eteläranta sopii erinomaisesti myös purjeveneille.
Saaren eteläpuolella on vedenalaista taidetta noin neljän metrin syvyydessä (Armi Nurmisen teos Kalakoto ja muuta taidetta). Rannallakin on yksi taideteos.
Oma-aloitteisuus on sallittua kätköllä käydessä. Erityisen suotavaa on kuivattaa silicaa auringonpaisteessa tai veneen hytissä.
Dalskär is a little island in the southern part of Parainen, some 1.5 miles east of Gullkrona. It is administered by Metsähallitus (Finnish Forest Administration). The island is shaped as V opening to the east. It is sheltered from all winds except from NE – E. There are toilets and barbeque places on the island.
When navigating in to the bay be careful. There are submerged rocks in the middle of the mouth of the bay. It’s best to follow the northern shore. The end of the bay is shallow, only to be used by motor boats and small boats. On the northern side of the bay there area some landing places for sailboats, on the southern shore there are them a lot.
Next to Dalskär, there is underwater art at a depth of about four metres (Armi Nurminen’s work Kalakoto (“Home of Fish”) and other art also. One piece of art is on dry land).
It is allowed to show initiative when visiting this cache. For ex. you can dry the silica in the sun and do other maintenance if needed.
