A Ilha
dos Hangares pertence ao concelho de Faro, mas é através de Olhão
que o acesso à Ilha se faz de forma mais privilegiada, estando
integrado no Parque Natural da Ria Formosa, esta faz parte das
Ilhas que delimitam a Ria e a protegem do Oceano
Atlântico.

Em 1918 por ocasião da 1ª
Grande Guerra Mundial (também conhecida como
Grande Guerra antes de
1939, Guerra das Guerras ou
ainda como a Última Guerra
Feudal ocorrida entre Agosto de 1914 a 11 de Novembro de
1918) começou a ser construído na Ilha um Centro de Aviação Naval
(Centro de Aviação Naval do
Algarve) uma hidrobase com o fim de operar hidroaviões
vocacionados para a luta anti-submarina. |

Apesar de parcialmente construído e utilizado, com o fim da Guerra
o Centro nunca foi oficialmente activado, sendo as suas instalações
utilizadas mais tarde como infra-estruturas de apoio a uma zona de
um campo de tiro da marinha ali
instalado.
Atenção
Devido a não haver Barco com ligação directa para os
Hangares.
O acesso a esta parte da Ilha faz-se a pé através da Ilha do Farol
ou Culatra. Em ambos os acessos o tempo de deslocação será de 1h
para efectuar a ida e
volta.
Caso tenha barco ou algum conhecido que possua um, poderá então
atracar no porto de barcos dos Hangares e deslocar-se a
pé.

"Ilha dos
Hangares"
belongs to the Faro
municipally, but to access to the island you will have to catch the
boat in Olhão. This island
is integrated in the Natural Park of
Ria Formosa and this is
part of the islands that define and protect the
Ria from the Atlantic
Ocean.

In 1918 at the
1st World War (also known
as the Great War before
1939, War of the Wars or as
the Last Feudal War
occurred between August 1914 to 11 November 1918) began to be built
on the Island a center Naval Aviation
(Center for Naval Aviation
in Algarve) a hidrobase in order to operate seaplanes
designed for anti-submarine
fight. |
Although partially constructed and used for the purpose of the War
the Center was never officially activated and their facilities used
later as infrastructure to support an area of a field, shot navy
installed
there.
Attention
Due to lack boat with direct destination for the
Hangares.
The access to this part of the island is by foot, walking through
the Ilha do Farol or
Culatra. In both the
access time will about 1hour to make the round
trip.
If you have a boat or known someone who have one, then you can moor
at the port of the boat and whether to
walk.
